It is not surprising that there are contraindicated drugs for Paxil. All drugs in the world have something that should not be taken with them. Anti-depressants in general are well known for having lots of contraindications. This is understandable, as most anti-depressants involve changing brain chemistry, which is extremely sensitive to begin with.
Paxil is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. There are many other SSRIs out there, but all of them function in the same way – they control a person’s serotonin levels. Serotonin allows messages between nerve cells to be sent. Too little serotonin can result in a wide variety of problems and conditions, post-traumatic-stress-disorder and depression included, as well as OCD or obsessive-compulsive disorder.
There are a number of contraindicated drugs for Paxil – this is not surprising. Drugs alter the chemicals inside a person’s body and when two of those clash, it could lead to disastrous results. It could lead to mild problems such as swelling, or more serious problems such as a fever or even death. Even the most effective drugs in the world will fail in the face of a contraindicated drug.
Paxil is one such super-effective drug. Studies have shown that it can handle a wide range of brain chemical issues. It does not have to be taken after a meal.
There are contraindicated drugs for Paxil, yes – but that does not mean that all drugs have to be avoided while taking it. Some drugs are okay with it, others are not. However, in this case, no means no – this is true for all drugs. Contraindicated drugs are a definite no-no.
Unfortunately, all this compounds a problem Paxil shares with all anti-depressants. Those who are depressed are already inherently fragile, inherently damaged. This is true both physically and mentally. No one can simply force their way through it. They need help, and drugs are part of that treatment. It is not the only aspect of treatment, but it is a significant part of it. It is also a very tenuous aspect. It takes care and patience for it to work well.
There are a number of contraindicated drugs for Paxil. These include monoamine oxidase inhibitors, orap, methylene and linezold. There is not telling how bad it could get if these drugs were ever mixed. For example, it could create an allergic reaction that could result in difficult breathing or intense swelling. It could also result in nausea or parethesia, among other side effects.
At worse, it could worsen the user’s condition. It could increase the person’s thoughts of suicide, making it incredibly counterproductive. When a drug is contraindicated, it should absolutely NOT be used. It will not only prevent Paxil from working, it could actually drive the user deeper into depression. Naturally, this is not something that should happen.
Paxil is an extremely useful drug, but only if users avoid the contraindicated drugs. Used properly, it is an incredible drug that can improve a person’s life. Improperly, it could make it dark and dreary and generally worse.
