Depression can set upon just about anyone of any age anytime in life. There are many different types of depression, some that are related to life tragedies, others are related to medical problems or brought about by medical conditions, while others are brought about by inner thoughts and feelings that some people have about their life and what is going on in their life at that time.
Being irritable, aggressive angry or passive are signs of depression when you have not been this ‘way’ before or in the past. Continued use of drugs, alcohol or over using of these things could be signs of depression. Frequent lateness, absenteeism and complaining are signs of depression.
Some symptoms and signs of depression are very outward while others are subtle and not noticeable by many other people at all. If you are suffering from depression you might feel that something is wrong but you just don’t know what it is. You could have a blue feeling, a feeling that just nothing is going to make your happy. Depression is a state of mind that makes you feel different about the world and the things that are around you in life. Sometimes depression can hit you one day without a rhyme or reason but you just know you want to feel better or you want to change your overall outlook on life.
Some signs of depression include: change in weight up or down, change in sleeping too much or not enough, restlessness, starring, if you have lots of energy all the time or if one is suddenly too tired to do anything at all. Feelings of worthlessness or sadness all the time are signs of depression. If you have been having any type of feelings that life is just not worth it or not worth living these are signs of depression.
Sudden changes in jobs, relationships, or the inability to hold a job because of the side effects of depression can be real problems. Sometime these symptoms are not picked up for weeks or months, sometimes even years but they are real symptoms of depression. Being able to hold a job, be in a relationship and love you are the first steps on the road back to recovery from depression.
If you or someone you know are suffering from depression you can see the symptoms set in during the winter months when one is inside a lot more of the time. When the sun is shining outside and someone still wants to sit and watch television for days on end it can be a sign of depression as well.
